SHIFTING TOWARDS CIRCULARITY – ARCHIVE SALE

Our future is circular. The shift away from the old, linear “take-make-waste” model to a circular economy impacts every aspect of how we make our everyday goods. From raw materials and hardware to pattern creation, we need to design for repair, disassembly and biodegradability or recycling. Thinking of the end at the beginning allows us to keep our products in a closed loop system – one that eliminates waste and contributes to the regeneration of the fragile ecosystems our natural resources originate from.

Circularity begins with the raw material. Our decision to favor plants over plastic from the start was crucial, and the first major improvement in our journey was to switch from conventional to organic cotton for our canvas. It took a few more years of material research to create our own Cradle to Cradle Certified® solution: Bananatex®, the world’s first technical fabric made from naturally-grown Abacá banana plants. Its origins in a natural ecosystem offer a significantly lower footprint even compared to organically grown cotton, and combined with the natural wax coating the 100% biodegradable fabric offers a genuinely circular alternative to the plastics that dominate the textile industry today.

Since the launch of Bananatex® in 2018 our goal has always been to shift the entire QWSTION collection to this better material – and now that we’ve introduced several shapes and styles made from Bananatex it’s time to make room in our warehouse:
We’re introducing an "Archive Sale" section in our online store. It’ll house past editions, styles we will discontinue, and rare pieces from the QWSTION vault.

Please note these specially priced items are final sale: available while stocks last, and excluded from exchanges, returns or warranties. We hope you’ll find a treasure or two in there.
