The first plastic-free coat ever made from banana fiber.
In 2015, we applied our learnings about creating goods from plants instead of plastic to our first non-bag product: the All Weather Coat, a classic urban parka that embodied our trademark design principles of functionality, minimalism and environmental responsibility.
Back then, we made the All Weather Coat from organic cotton instead of the standard PU-coated polyester to avoid plastics as much as possible – though at the time we lacked viable solutions for plastic-free sewing thread and zipper tape. In the eight years since, we’ve mastered both, and developed a fabric that isn't just 'less bad' on the environment but contributes to regenerating it: the fully circular Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bananatex® Lightweight fabric.

Details Matter
Bananatex® is woven from organic abacá fibres that grow in a regenerative permaculture ecosystem without the need for water or chemicals. At the end of its long life, all elements of the coat are fully biodegradable except the buttons, which can be recycled in existing systems. To ensure it lives up to its name, the All Weather Coat’s Bananatex®-based shellfabric is naturally treated with a wind- and water-resistant coating, which lends it a pleasing waxy handfeel that improves in patina with wear.
Alongside a major fabric upgrade, we’ve also improved the coat’s cut for timeless relevance. Gender- and season-less, its silhouette is characterised by clean lines, while two generous outer pockets, a concealed chest pocket and simple snap buttons balance minimalism with functionality. A subtle sleeve pattern tweak optimises freedom of movement, making the coat an ideal outer layer for the daily cycle commute, whatever the weather. Super light, the garment packs down easily while holding its shape throughout the seasons and years.
